Knowledge S.V. releases a new edition to his large catalog with ‘RESONATE.’ This joint has the feel of a lot of music I grew up on. A real classic hip-hop feel through and through.
I grew up on the West Coast but in love with East Coast hip-hop. RESONATE gives me the feeling S.V. grew up on the same. He truly is at his best on that style of production. ‘Crazy’ is my favorite record, reminiscent of something Roc Marciano or Sean Price would rhyme on. Even Knowledge’s vocal tone lands with presence like Shyne or Rae.
Brainstorm produced quite a few slaps for the diverse sound bed of instrumentals. Not to be confused as an East Coast artist, S.V. very much reps Seattle. RESONATE‘s well-rounded subject matter contains a mixture of storytelling records, socially conscious thoughts, and plain bars.

“The overall motivation for the project came from life lessons and some of the issues that continue to plague society i.e. social injustice, racism and on a local level gentrification. I’ve seen the pain and challenges people who come from tough circumstances are forced to live through. A lot of my music comes from a Narrator perspective and I try to paint that picture to those who may not be as familiar with those who struggle to survive on a daily basis. I also am a Father of 3 and that alone is enough motivation to continue to improve on a daily basis.”
