Kiara Simone (Kiara Coleman) is a femcee out of Alexandria, Virginia who’s been killing the rap game and making boys of men for years now. Kiara first entered the rap game when she was 14\-years-old and was interning five hours a day in a studio in exchange for one hour of studio time. Encouraged by her older sister, Kiara Simone gained notoriety with her remixed verse of Lil Mamas “Shawty Get Loose.” Tragically, her sister was shot and killed but, she remains a strong influence in Kiaras music and life. Along with the pain and struggle from her past, Kiara Simone also draws from the fun and happy times as well as her current mood and even the people she’s around at the time as inspiration for her music.
The Music
Kiara Simone has a fusion sound of old school, east coast mixed with the music of today. In an interview with rollingout.com Kiara said her music is like “Biggie meets Drake.” To no ones surprise she also named Biggie and Drake as two of the biggest influences on her music along with Jay Z, Nas, and lil Kim. Kiara Simone has definitely created her own lane and a leader among not only female MCees but all MCees and it’s not surprising to see considering her inspiration consist of some of the greatest leaders in the game.
