Khalid Drops a Fourth Album After Busy Year of Singles in 2023

American singer-songwriter Khalid from El Paso, Texas who has been recognized greatly in the realm of R&B, soul, pop, and hip-hop has just released his fourth album “Sincere” on August 2nd.

Shortly after graduating from high school, Khalid reached number two on the Billboard Twitter Emerging Artists Chart in July of 2016 after dropping his debut single “Location”.  Let’s take a look at how he kept his talent rolling.

Khalid Drops New Album

As it was mentioned, Khalid’s debut single “Location” dropped in 2016 with his follow up “Young Dumb & Broke” dropping later in 2017.  This debut really put Khalid on the map as a rising artist.

Khalid has three previous albums with his debut album being “American Teen” which dropped in March of 2017.  The album features both of his hits, “Location” and “Young Dumb & Broke” which are also the most popular songs on the entire 15-track album.

His next album was “Suncity” in October of 2018 which featured artist Empress Of and was only half the size of his previous album.  Its most popular songs were “Saturday Nights” and “Better”.

Khalid’s third and most recent album before his newest drop was “Free Spirit” in April of 2019 which featured artists Disclosure, SAFE, and John Mayer.  The album had a whopping 17 songs amounting to nearly an hour of respectable R&B and pop vibes.

After his three year album streak, he released quite a few singles and EPs with 2023 being a very busy year for Khalid.  On March 10th of 2023, he dropped a pop single in collaboration with artist PNAU called “The Hard Way”.  Shortly after on March 31st, Khalid dropped another pop single called “Softest Touch”.

Then on April 20th, he released, yet again, another pop song in collaboration with artist Bree Runway called “Be The One” which would be the first of quite a few projects that the two artists would work on together.

Khalid dropped a hip-hop and rap song with artist Toosii on May 5th called “Favorite Song (Remix)” which was a take on Toosii’s hit “Favorite Song” that dropped on February 17th of 2023.

Hardly a week later, Khalid would then drop an EP with Bree Runway on May 12th called “Be The One (Paul Woolford Remix)” which featured two remixes of their previous drop “Be The One”, the Paul Woolford Remix and the Paul Woolford Extended Mix.

It didn’t stop there for these two artists.  On June 2nd, they dropped “Be The One (Alternative Versions)” with four versions of that same previous hit, R3LL Jersey Club Mix, Sped Up, Slowed + Reverb, and the original version itself.

In 2024, Khalid came back solo by dropping his hit “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me” which actually appears on his newest album but was released on May 10th this year with three versions, the original, live, and Sango remix.  “Adore U” which also appears on his newest album dropped earlier this year on June 14th, as well.

New Album and Upcoming Shows

Khalid just dropped his newest album on August 2nd called “Sincere” with a total of 16 songs.  The most popular songs thus far are “Adore U”, “Everything We See”, “Please Don’t Fall In Love With Me”, “Tainted”, and “Heatstroke”.

He tells triple j in an interview that the album name was very spontaneous and that it didn’t actually come to him until the end of the album process.  He named the album after realizing what the music was and what the vibe was – sincere- simple as that.

He also tells Billboard in another interview that this album consists of music that he has been harboring up for years and he finally felt like it was the perfect moment to release all of it in this wholesome album.

Khalid also has two upcoming shows this year, one on September 28th in Newark, New Jersey at the Prudential Center and one on October 5th in Lincoln, California at The Venue at Thunder Valley Casino Resort.
