Kendrick Lamar has finally broken his long stint of silence with an announcement of his final album with Top Dawg Entertainment. The Compton rapper makes the announcement on social media, directing fans to an oversimple website called oklama.com. Upon visiting it, fans are met with a folder titled ‘nu thoughts’ and within is a message from Kendrick himself.
The note starts out with Lamar reminiscing on how he’s been spending his days. He states, “I spend most of my days with fleeting thoughts. Writing. Listening. And collecting old Beach cruisers. The morning rides keep me on a hill of silence.” He continues with a statement that isn’t very surprising. He states, “I go months without a phone.”
He continues, “Love, loss, and grief have disturbed my comfort zone, but the glimmers of God speak through my music and family.”
While the world around me evolves, I reflect on what matters the most. The life in which my words will land next.

The separation between Kendrick Lamar and Top Dawg Entertainment comes with no hard feelings
Kendrick Lamar parting ways from Top Dawg Entertainment seems to come with no hard feelings. Lamar states in his note, “As I produce my final TDE album, I feel joy to have been a part of such a cultural imprint after 17 years. The Struggles. The Success. And most importantly, the Brotherhood. May the Most High continue to use Top Dawg as a vessel for candid creators. As I continue to pursue my life’s calling.”
Likewise, Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith, the CEO and founder of TDE, responded positively. On Instagram he posted a note stating, “With this being Dot’s last album on TDE, this is more of a VICTORY LAP, a celebration. I know he will be successful in whatever it is he decides to do and will have our FULL support.”
There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown.

He completes the note with, “Thank you for keeping me in your thoughts. I’ve prayed for you all. See you soon enough.” He signs it “-oklama.”
The release date for the next Kendrick Lamar album is still unknown
With the website being oklama.com and the letter signed “-oklama,” it can only be assumed that the album may also be titled ‘oklama.’ Though the title and the release date are unknown at this point, being one of the most consistent rappers in the game, Kendrick Lamar is almost guaranteed to put out another legendary project.
