Hip-hop heads, are already familiar with the longstanding beef between two of the biggest rappers of our time, Kanye West and Drake. Over the recent year, things have been relatively calm between them both; that is, until this past weekend when Drake reignited the fire through a feature on Trippie Redd’s new album in which he appears to be dissing Ye. From there, Kanye West sent a heated text directed at Drizzy in a group chat containing Pusha T and more. He posted the text to Instagram and has since deleted it.
All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know / Forty-five, forty-four (burned out), let it go / Ye ain’t changin’ shit for me, it’s set in stone.
Drake on “Betrayal” by Trippie Redd
Kanye West shared the address of Drake on Instagram
The latest gas was pumped early this morning when Ye shared Drake’s address. The post was swiftly deleted but fans acted quick, taking screenshots. This is technically “doxing,” but Drake’s Toronto address is apparently already public knowledge. Try googling it for yourself.
So is this just a publicity stunt leading up to the two rapper’s new albums? Most likely. There’s no doubt the two have beef, with it dating back over a decade. But, the moves on Kanye’s end seem more immature than a solid attack at Drake. With DONDA on its way any day now, it seems Kanye West is worried about Drake taking the spotlight with his new album Certified Lover Boy.
Drake’s upcoming album was planned to be released much earlier this year. Likewise, Ye’s album was set to release this past Friday. The two seem to be in a race for not just time, but winning fans over too. After all, if both albums dropped on the same day, which would you listen to first?
