After releasing his latest album Man of the Woods earlier this year, Justin Timberlake has surprised us with a new single titled “SoulMate”. Much like his album, “SoulMate” exists on a far different spectrum compared to his previous work. In this case, we are given an upbeat dance inspired track with heavy caribbean influences.
With barely being over three minutes in duration, “SoulMate” has a very simple and lighthearted message throughout. Much like the themes we hear from all of his songs, his latest single continues with the same themes about love and intimacy.
While it’s unclear if he’s dropping an entire new project or giving us a stand alone single for the summer, it’s nice to hear Timberlake steer clear of the country influences he tried to include with his R&B sound on his last project. While using caribbean influences is a different sound for him, it adds a fun twist paired with his vocals that all of us know and love.
