Juicy J has made himself one of the mainstay names in hip-hop culture over the years. He’s done this with his distinct sound and boisterous personality. Now, he hopes to do the same within the cannabis community through his partnership with media mogul Gary Vaynerchuck aka Gary Vee and his partner company Green Street Agency. The new cannabis brand Asterisk* is currently only available exclusively at MMD Dispensaries in Los Angeles. There’s also brand merchandise available online. This all comes on the heels of the announcement of his new album The Hustle Continues dropping October 14th.
The announcement of the partnership came in his recent music video for “Gah Damn High” featuring Wiz Khalifa. Juicy J presents more of a pseudo-documentary style approach as he takes us through what it’s been like during the COVID quarantine.
His activities include doing yoga, playing video games, over-cleaning, and of course—smoking weed. The video also has a great comedic layer to it as well. Wiz’s whole scene was filmed through his window with the crew outside and Juicy J suited up in full hazmat just to take a weed delivery.
The end is where the big news hits with Gary Vee coming in on video chat to ask how their business together is. Asterisk* has just begun making its first drops at medical dispensaries in Los Angeles. As the brand grows within the medical community, you have to wonder if Asterisk* will make its way into recreational cannabis. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see what big plans Juicy, Gary, and Green Street have for the new brand.
