Hip-Hop’s favorite oddball releases another unique single with the anticipation of his new album coming this year. JPEGMAFIA has had a unique and notable run within the last couple years.
His last album “SCARRING THE HOES” was made in collaboration with Danny Brown and featured songs such as “Kingdom Hearts Key” which features redveil, “Burfict!” and “Lean Beef Patty” . The album indeed lived up to its name because of how opposite it is from any mainstream music.
Peggy has made a career off of this type of experimental, in your face, and borderline absurd music. Not to mention JPEG has some of the most unique production in all of Hip-Hop. His one of one personality and quirky sense of humor seeps through his sound and image.
JPEGMAFIA’s “SIN MIEDO”
His new single “SIN MIEDO” is no different. The song seems to be JPEG’s twist on a Jersey Club or New York drill song. The song includes the bed squeaking and drum patterns you would see in an Ice Spice song, but also could not be more different. Peggy also features a very punk rock sounding section with acoustic drums and an electric guitar riff in the middle of the song. He then blends the drill and punk sound together to create something only he could think of. It is a beautiful and chaotic mess that embodies everything Peggy is.
JPEGMAFIA’s Album Rollout
JPEG released his other single for his yet unnamed album called “don’t rely on other men” which samples the first episode of the show Succession. This song is another experimental offering which features FREAKY and might be one of his most beautifully insane tracks he has made to date. The visuals for the song are also jaw dropping and mental which makes it a must watch.
JPEGMAFIA will be going on tour in the United States this upcoming August. He was just on his world tour earlier this last year. Many fans are presuming he will release his album before his American tour begins and give his fans something after his long hiatus. However there are no clear dates of when it would be released, so music fans will just have to wait until Hip-Hop’s favorite oddball drops another ear catching album.
