Founder and CEO of Respect My Region, Mitch Pfeifer, caught up with the legend Jorge Cervantes at the MJ Unpacked in Las Vegas and gave us insight into the global cannabis industry.
Many growers have found his books, articles, and videos on VHS from back in the day as pivotal in their cannabis journey. With the evolution of technology, he returned to the game to make everything simpler for everyone to get the information right.
At the start of this interview, Mitch asks Jorge Cervantes how he feels about the differences between the cannabis culture from back then to now. He expresses how amazing it is to see different ways people market themselves compared to back then. The only problem is that there is TOO MUCH content for cannabis to be believed and understood correctly. Is the content information all over the place?
Following that, Mitch asks what his take is on the legalization of the cannabis industry as a whole. He expressed how the industry is expanding its market tremendously worldwide, stating, “Look beyond your border.” Jorge explains how combining all the populations, such as the USA, South America, and Western Europe, is legalizing cannabis. Jorge Cervantes is an American publisher, horticulturist, and writer specializing in indoor, outdoor, and greenhouse cultivation of medical cannabis. Jorge started his career after graduation around 1977 in Santa Barbara, California, starting a landscaping garden business with his partner, Chilean.
At the time, he grew “Sinsemilla” illegally in a National Forest near Santa Barbara. This made Jorge the go-to guy for high-quality cannabis. A lack of credible information about indoor cannabis cultivation led him to analyze, research, and author Indoor Marijuana Horticulture in 1983. The book became a best-seller, and successful indoor growers dubbed it the “Indoor Grower’s Bible” which became the book’s subtitle.
