December started with Respect My Region invading Spokane for The Joint Effort. We brought Gifted Gab with us to join a group of eastern Washington’s dopest emcees; T.S, Jango, Karma, and Lou Era. Even though it was cold as $hit, literally freezing temperatures outside, we were able to heat things up in The Red Room Lounge.
Before the show, the squad took to the streets to meet the community. We visited ten of the most prolific pot shops in Spokane. A special shoutout to Cinder for sponsoring our event, and rolling through with a ton of people! Thanks to Shine Papers the Joint Effort was golden. 24K rolling papers were passed around as an aura of luxury filled the Red Room. DJ Beauflexx set the vibe while the crowd filled the room.
Thanks to fire beats from Beauflexx, nonstop smoke sessions filled with Shine Papers and Pure Leaf wraps, plus fire weed from Cinder, Dawgstar, and Western Cultured, The Joint Effort was the dopest music event we’ve been apart of in Spokane since RMR began.
Lou Era set the bar high as the opening performer. Creating the energy from his opening song, the veteran sure knows how to work a crowd. The crowd was ready to party as they bounced around with the charismatic rapper.
Karma continued the movement by jumping off the stage during his set. The Tri-Cities rapper is so low key he wore a letterman jacket with some basketball shorts, signature pick in his hair as always.
Jango is a mighty force and arguably one of the most popular rappers out of the 509. He has an incredibly emotional performance that connects with his audience.
T.S is so much fun to watch perform. By this time of the night, I had a thick layer of kief on my fingertips. Back to back swishers, golden joints, I broke down so many nugs I felt like a human grinder. But it made me especially appreciate his lively set.
I have never been disappointed with a Gifted Gab set. She always brings energy, giving her all for every performance. The multi-talented artist also has some of the dopest merch you can cop, check out her art at @gab_did_it.
After a long night of smoking the finest cannabis Spokane has to offer, the munchies brewing in my stomach felt like a high magnitude earthquake. Like a beacon of light, there was a taco truck sitting in the corner of the parking lot. I swear I could have ate at least 20 tacos at the given moment.
Reflecting on the night, the amount of love from the crowd was overwhelming. Seeing a packed house all the way on the other side of the state and all those people there to support was amazing. RMR is thankful for everybody who came out, and is thrilled that we can help support and shine light on every part of the beautiful pacific northwest region.
