James Adkins Releases Folk Collection “Brokedown Free Man Blues”

James Adkins just released his latest album “Brokedown Free Man Blues.” This album is a folk, country, bluegrass collection that James wrote over a transitory period in his life while living and traveling through parts of the US such as Florida, Virginia, Northwest Ohio, and Nashville.

Brokedown Free Man Blues was originally spawned with James’ friendship with Anna Edström and Jonas Ruldolf, two songwriter/producers from Malmö Sweden who were at the time living in Nashville, Tennessee.

Some of James Adkins’ accolades include his presence as the primary songwriter and lead singer of the award-winning Americana band “Big Virginia Sky.” He managed this while also being on the road as a freelance musician. He was also hailed as 2013’s South Alabama Flat Picking Champion.

The lead single on the album is “Don’t Say Goodbye.” However, our favorite single on the album is definitely “Broke Down Free Man Blues” for its unforgettable blues/bluegrass sound. Listen to the full album below!
