Jade Cicada has once again demonstrated his prowess in the electronic music scene with the release of his latest EP, Lunar Fade. This four-track collection, released on January 10, 2025, marks a significant evolution in his sound, showcasing a refined approach that balances complexity with clarity.
In creating Lunar Fade, Jade Cicada experimented with a new digital audio workstation (DAW), which influenced his creative process.
“Using a new DAW is a huge inspiration in and of itself. New tools bring new ways of thinking and working. I just try to follow where the sounds take me.”
The EP’s artwork is a reimagining of Jade Cicada’s current studio from artist Dave Arcade. Surrounded by gear, screens, and speakers, blasting off into space with cool sounds, this visual representation aligns with the auditory experience of the EP, reflecting the artist’s journey into new creative territories.
Jade Cicada Listeners can also look forward to experiencing Jade Cicada’s new material live during his “Break The Hold” tour, which spans nine dates and includes appearances at festivals such as Electric Forest and Lightning In A Bottle. The tour promises an immersive experience of detailed audio design and stunning visuals, with support from artists like EPROM, Resonant Language, Cool Customer, Mr. Carmack, and Mad Zach.
