Bay Area Rapper J. Lately Drops “Papayas Blunt Smoke” Video

The Bay Area has never been short of talent, especially when it comes to music. J. Lately has been around for a few years now and is staking his claim as one of the best rising talents in the area.

Right now, J. Lately is teaming up with Locksmith to go on the “Louder Than Words” tour. While out on tour the Bay Area spitter will be promoting his most recent album, Be Fucking Happy.

Be Fucking Happy, features 11 tracks with six of the 11 cuts being produced by Space Cadet. Additional production on the LP comes from the likes of Mikos Da Gawd, Chase Moore, Tha Shipmates and Kris Rewlz. The album also features appearances from Rexx Life Raj, Khyence Tienne, and Demrick.

One of the standout tracks from the project, ‘Papayas & Blunt Smoke’ has just got the visual treatment. Space Cadet produced the track as one of his six on the LP. The video was directed by Erica Eng.

The track features a simple yet very catchy piano loop matched with infectious percussion. J. Lately’s smooth flow and demeanor on the track mesh perfectly. Throughout the three and half-minute long video, Lately has no problem showing off his quirky character while having fun, and letting the world know that you won’t ruin his day, no matter what. The track is the perfect banger to take us into summertime.

If you happen to see J. Lately in a city near you make sure you get out to the show. I’m sure this will be a great experience.
