J. Cole Releases New Single Titled “Middle Child”

J. Cole is back with a brand new single titled “Middle Child.” Following up on a huge year of 2018 with the release of his hit album K.O.D, he’s looking to maintain his momentum in 2019.

His latest single “Middle Child” is far more aggressive compared to many of his songs from the last three albums, as a prominent brass lead and booming 808’s drive the track. His triplet-based flows also pair well with the instrumental, in addition to both rapping and singing on the track. The energy he creates is far different from his previous material, but also shows similar elements to the era of his album Born Sinner.

After dropping K.O.D, J. Cole hinted to his fans that another album may arrive in 2019. While nothing is confirmed at this point, it’s a positive sign that he’s releasing new music so early in the new year. Check out his new single below!
