Erin Lapsansky is the owner and operator of Insight Cannabis Consulting — an all in one consulting firm aimed at helping people create the cannabis businesses of their dreams. Her combination of academic and hands-on experience has helped her build a one-stop cannabis consulting business that is specially crafted to help entrepreneurs and business owners with building a successful and respected cannabis company.
Erin attended Gonzaga University and received her Bachelor’s in Research Biology before completing her Master’s in Horticulture at Colorado State University. After wrapping up a summer of teaching, she was hired by Bellingham, Washington’s Cascadia Gardens where the real cannabis work experience began.
She kicked off her career similar to how most do in the world of cannabis, by de-stocking plants during harvest. As more and more tasks needed to get done, Erin says that she tried to take on as many responsibilities as possible. Putting in that extra effort over the years helped her earn the company’s general manager position.
From there, she wanted to continue gaining industry experience. Retail and marketing were the next logical stops. This is why she manages Trippy Hippy Cannabis in Bellingham and helps market and create content with our team here at Respect My Region.
Working together with Erin and RMR over the last year has identified numerous situations where cannabis brands desperately need support in at least one or more areas. Cultivating cannabis at commercial scale presents numerous difficulties and many of the largest and most funded cannabis companies have proven that there isn’t a guaranteed path towards success.
No amount of press, celebrity support, or overpriced designer packaging can save a cannabis company that is losing and wasting money in multiple areas of their business. This is where Erin and her experience can help in numerous ways.
During each phase, from buildout all the way to the 1000th harvest, problems are guaranteed to arise. These times are often the ones where inexperienced “experts” wreak havoc and ultimately cost the company millions of dollars.
Operating cannabis retail efficiently and successfully has also proven to be similarly difficult for many business owners across the country. Each step of the retail process, from buildout all the way to the 1 Billionth customer (s/o McDonalds) also presents unique challenges that can severely impact the company’s ability to buy, sell, and oftentimes deliver products to the end consumer.
Assistance from Erin’s team and network is guaranteed to help cannabis operations that are struggling with business inefficiencies that often bleed companies dry. Issues like high budtender turnover, low retail sales, poor b2b sales, improving customer service, digital marketing, and recruiting are all areas where Lapsansky has been known to provide immediate support.
Insight Cannabis Consulting and the full spectrum of work that is delivered could perhaps be better correlated to Lapsansky’s passion for cannabis rather than just listing off her business’s services.
Erin isn’t motivated by money and is most passionate about engaging with craft cannabis projects, complex problems, dedicated people, and of course working with the cannabis plants themselves.
Her favorite thing to do is helping a grower through an entire eight-week flower cycle and helping their team hone in on honoring the company’s mission and reaching their ultimate goals. Empowering teams to be the best they can be is a goal that stays true to Erin’s heart.
Insight Cannabis Consulting is able to be the training wheels for entrepreneurs and business owners who are new in the cannabis industry.
ICC can also help teach legacy growers and commercial cultivators new tricks. It really depends how committed the company is to reaching an optimum level of success.
What began as Erin helping people with license applications has grown into something much more impactful.
