H+ is a music teacher and IDM/glitch artist who lives in Bermuda, a small group of islands seven hundred miles off the east coast of the United States. This unique artist also has a bachelors in performing the double bass and a masters in music composition.
H+’s most recent work, “Hidden Dimensions,” is an elegant album that draws parallels through math, physics, and music theory, with an emphasis on exploring the concept of M theory (string theory) and hidden dimensions through his music. With unorthodox methods and true musical prestige, this album will grab your attention and quickly make you feel like you are floating within a quantum realm.

With a variety of instruments, such as bass, drums, guitar, and piano, on top of vocals and electronic production, there are enough elements and concepts within this album to keep a music lover thoroughly captivated. Touching on genres such as funk, jazz, deep dubstep, and Latin sounds, there are plenty of interesting twists and turns to go through. A good example of this is in the first track, “Every Time.” This track opens with piano notes and builds into a surprising wave of distorted electronic sounds.
While listening to H+, it’s easy to hear his influence from artists like Aphex Twin, Flying Lotus, and Square Pusher. This album is complex, unrestricted, original, and at times surprisingly funky. A collection of interesting sounds involving many levels of analytical processes and musical exploit. I appreciated its attention to detail, wide use of instrumentals, and excellent variation between scales and genres. Hidden Dimensions is a quirky, catchy, rhythmic auditory journey.
