Gather for a tribute event in memory of Toby Keith. First ever Hometown Jam for Toby is a tribute to honor this Oklahoma born legend. There will be BBQ and drinks, as well as live music in three local dive bars.
These three dive bars will be raising money on Saturday February 24. Eric Steven Walker and many other local artists will be playing in honor of Toby Keith. This event is to help raise money for The Kids Korral, The Toby Keith Foundation, which Keith undeniably supported. Mooney’s Pub & Grill posted on Facebook that all profits for Hometown Jam for Toby will be donated.
Red Solo Cup Songwriter Passes Away
Toby Keith passed away February 6th, only 18 months after announcing he had stomach cancer. Toby Keith was raised in Moore, Oklahoma, a suburb of Oklahoma City. As a result to losing Keith, Hometown Jam for Toby is a tribute for the beloved country star.
Hometown Jam for Toby is a tribute event to “embrace the spirit of Oklahoma’s favorite son through a day filled with his timeless music…” The Belle Starr Saloon posted on Facebook and encourages everyone in the community to attend. Hometown Jam for Toby is to celebrate his life and “raise our solo cups in toast to Toby Keith’s impact on our lives.”
The Dive Bars Hosting Hometown Jam for Toby

The Belle Starr Saloon is hosting a space and opportunity for local artists and their community to gather in memory of Toby Keith. Located in Purcell, Oklahoma, this dive bar offers live music every weekend. The Belle Starr Saloon has joined forces with two other dive bars for Hometown Jam for Toby.
The second dive bar to join in this event is Mooney’s Pub & Grill in Norman Oklahoma. Mooney’s Pub & Grill host live music, but only advertised on selected nights. Mooney’s Pub & Grill do however, host Karaoke Night every Wednesday. Aaron Wall and Cade Roth played live last month at this dive bar.
Finally the third dive bar, The Landing Zone located in Midwest City, Oklahoma hosts a daily Happy Hour from 12pm to 6pm. The Landing Zone has hosted Christy Bryant and Twist of Fate already this month. The Landing Zone already paid tribute to Toby Keith by hosting a Toby’s Solo Cup Party in his honor on February 10th.
Toby Keith was a legend, and Oklahoma is proud to have been apart of his origins. Toby Keith was only 62 when he passed away, losing his fight with stomach cancer. This songwriter has inspired many other artists, including Eric Walker. Toby Keith is cherished and loved by people everywhere, but Oklahoma will miss him the most.
