Last month, HERBL announced its plans to enter into exclusive distribution partnerships with Ball Family Farms and 40 Tons. HERBL is one of California’s largest supply chain companies that actively delivers to over 1000+ retailers in the state. Since 2016, HERBL has connected cannabis retailers with cannabis brands to create seamless supply chain solutions in one of the most highly regulated industries in the nation. The month of May brought visibility to Cannabis Freedom Day. This day provided an opportunity for all brands involved to drive visibility and efforts towards inclusion and social impact in the California cannabis industry.
HERBL
Some of the most complex issues facing the cannabis industry today are distribution and transport. With highly sought-after product, that has an expiration date, it takes top-notch logistics to overhaul a multitude of potential supply chain breakdowns—enter, HERBL. Specifically, brands want to make sure that they have a distributor with a fleet that is reliable and able to get their product to retailers and into the hands of consumers.
That’s why, last month, HERBL welcomed Ball Family Farms and 40 Tons to their growing portfolio of equity brands and partners. HERBL CEO, Mike Beaudry, commented on the partnerships by stating, “Both brands are dedicated to fostering positive social impact in cannabis, whether that be through diversity in the workplace or providing resources to support restorative justice. We look forward to scaling Ball Family Farms and 40 Tons and increasing their visibility in one of the most competitive cannabis markets in the world.” Check out what other brands HERBL is working with here.
Ball Family Farms
Ball Family Farms (BFF) is the first black-owned, vertically integrated, indoor grow facility in LA. Chris Ball, a former legacy operator and professional athlete, founded the company in 2018. In creating BFF, Ball aimed to prioritize “equal pay, diversity and women’s empowerment in the workplace.” The brand promotes both the quality of their premium cannabis, along with their motto, “cultivating the culture from the ground up.”
Subsequently, founder, Chris Ball stated, “Our partnership with HERBL is no exception. Between their widespread reach in California and commitment to cannabis culture in our state, HERBL is the perfect partner as our growing brand looks to the future.” We look forward to seeing what positive impacts will come from this partnership.

40 Tons
40 Tons is a Black and woman-owned social impact premium cannabis, clothing, and accessories brand from Los Angeles, California. Founded by Loriel Alegrete, Anthony Alegrete and Corvain Cooper, their story is inspiring, to say the least. These founders have experienced firsthand the impact of cannabis prohibition.
As a result, 40 Tons is on a mission to “break the chains of injustices stemming from prohibition.” Therefore, “every 40 Tons purchase helps non-violent cannabis prisoners fight their unjust sentences, engage in restorative justice, and find full, equitable lives once they return home to their families.”
CEO and co-founder, Loriel Alegrete, commented on the partnership with HERBL by stating, “With the support of HERBL, 40 Tons will be able to impact significantly more lives. Sharing our brand and story with new audiences not only introduces consumers to our quality products, but also enables our team to fund even more restorative justice initiatives. HERBL’s hands-on approach and organic relationship with our team, place 40 Tons in a prime position to succeed.”
Moreover, as discussed, this partnership helped bolster visibility of Cannabis Freedom Day; a holiday that is meant to bring awareness to the disproportional social, racial and economic injustices that BIPOC communities have faced due to cannabis prohibition. So, be sure to follow 40 Tons Brand to keep up with their social impact efforts.
