The Grape Ape strain has been one of my favorite strains for quite some time. I have struggled to find one that compares to the quality of Mad Mark Farms.
Triple Crown is grows their cannabis close to my childhood home. About 30 minutes north on the 101, you’ll find their farm next to the Humptulips River. This Indica dominant hybrid is a result of breeding Mendocino Purps, Skunk, and Afgani. I have previously tried Triple Crown’s Romulan and was extremely impressed. I had similar expectations for this Grape Ape.
Moving the jar around in my hands, the first thing I noticed was the deep shade of green. These nugs are a lot darker than most Grape Ape nugs. Bunches of orange hairs poked their way through the deep green flower. No hints of purple were present, but the smell was potent. A strong almost pine odor greeted my nose with subtle hints of grape following close behind. Immediately I became eager to see how the high compared to previous Grape Ape experiences.
Each hit had an extremely subtle grape taste to it. It paired well with my Blueberry Swisher Sweet. Overall the high was enjoyable. I felt both the indica and sativa sides of the strain. My body was calm and relaxed, however, I wanted to talk more than I usually do and found myself talking to everyone.
Overall this is a more mellow version of the strain than what I got from Mad Mark Farms. I would recommend this strain to any level of smoker.
