Gideon King & City Blog just dropped their latest track, “Fake it On Facebook”. This track is a mix of easy listening, jazz rock, and progressive, and will be featured on their upcoming album Upscale Madhouse. The laid back vibe and progressive piano notes of this song give off a bit of a Steely Dan resonance, while the lyrics and theme depict a 2010’s dilemma of the smoke and mirrors and honey soaked lies of romance and social media.
Altogether, “Fake it On Facebook” is a unique track. People these days aren’t used to hearing these kinds of lyrics in a package of jazz and easy listening. For that, it’s a fun and refreshing listen, and a good choice to feature off their upcoming album. Listen to this track, and stay tuned for the release of Gideon King & City Blog’s album Upscale Madhouse on August 10th.
