The Gello strain from K Savage Supply Co. was a little bit of a question mark in my shopping bag. I’ve seen these guys throw some ill photos on Instagram but I had yet to try out their bud until this purchase. Anyone that knows me, knows I’m a hype beast for all things Gelato. Mochi Gelato is something that’s always been high on my personal list but it never came heavy to the Washington market and hasn’t been as prevalent in Cali the past year. Seeing anything Gelato crossed with another Gelato is almost a sure-fire way to get me to cop an 8th.
Bred by Sherbinskis, this beautiful cut is a mixture of some of the best of the Gelato strain world. The Gello strain is a cross of Bacio Gelato, or Gelato 41, and Mochi Gelato. K Savage did the cure right. Opening up the jar you’re hit with a mild Mochi smell along with earthiness and piney aromas. The bud was “squishy” which I first mistook for too wet but as soon as I started to break down the nugs for a blunt, I realized it was the perfect balance of dried, sticky, and ready to crumble (with a few pieces sticking to my fingers.) I’m a blunt guy and the aroma seemed to marry a Russian Cream backwood but I also took a quick toke from the bong to taste the flower in its raw form.
This was one of the smoothest smokes I’ve had in a while. Seriously. The flavor, taste, and burn are real consistent and smooth throughout. The blend of the hybrid also provides a real even keel high. It sounds cliche to say uplifting and relaxing, but I really think this strain achieves that. The flavor isn’t overwhelming but the taste appeases the full pallet. I look forward to the next session with this.
