TikTok has changed the lives of many musicians, propelling their careers seemingly overnight. Gayle was lucky enough to amass fans and cultivate a loyal following through the video-based social media platform. Her song “abcdefu” was an instant hit and spread like wildfire half a year ago in 2021.
Despite being in the early stage of her career, Gayle is a natural performer and musician with so much potential. Although the ‘feeling it together tour’ is one of Gayle’s first headlining tours, her stage presence was incredible. She was able to naturally connect with the audience through her energy. With her outgoing personality and honesty, Gayle made the stage her home and jammed out comfortably in front of an audience of 300 people.

In addition, the venue in Chicago was a perfect fit for Gayle. The Subterranean is a historic building, built in the 1980s. Features of the space have been carefully preserved to showcase its history. The three-story venue features a Tiffany & brass chandelier that hangs above the dance floor with warm lighting. Gayle’s unapologetic attitude paired with the Subterranean’s bold character was a match made in heaven.
Although she’s most well known for her angry pop song, Gayle proves through her performance that she is capable of range as a songwriter. She is able to rock out to an upbeat track with the crowd, but also serenade the audience with a soft ballad.
It’s comforting when someone is the same person both on stage and off. Gayle is exactly that- her humor on social media translates the same way in person. On top of that, it was special to watch her take time after her show to meet all of her fans one on one. Despite any fatigue from the constant traveling and performing, she actively seeks to form a connection with the fans who came out to see her.
This down-to-earth and humble personality is the reason why Gayle is able to have such a passionate and loyal following. With so much musical talent and a naturally charismatic personality, there’s no doubt that Gayle is a star to watch.
