After dropping The Vault on his birthday a few weeks ago, G-Eazy hasn’t slowed down from making new music as he’s released another song titled “Drop” featuring Blac Youngsta and BlocBoy JB. Ahead of his Endless Summer Tour, G-Eazy has made it clear that this summer is for his fans and music.
While the topics of “Drop” are unsurprisingly centered around money and women, all three artists provide respectable verses within the song. Most fans will discover after a first listen that this track won’t rank with his some of his top songs, simply due to the repetitive nature of the themes and wordplay throughout. At the same time, seeing how “Drop” ranks with his previous work is almost irrelevant as it’s meant solely as a club anthem to get people hyped.
Produced by Marii Beatz and Hitmaka, the instrumental itself can be described as bouncy and trap-centered. Driven by a wobbly lead with crisp percussion underneath, it provides an upbeat vibe that supports the artist’s verses nicely.
