California’s Funky OG strain, also the name of the minority-owned producer, started out as a grower only strain. Seeing the name Funky automatically makes me think of 90’s breakdancing. The masters behind the genetics eventually decided to share their product with the rest of the world. Their product meets a high standard set by their owners. A state of the art grow facility in Southern California produces this exceptional product. An indica- dominant strain with secret genetics, this is an intriguing strain.
Immediately catching my eye was the label on the jar. Palm trees, graffiti style writing, and a panda dominate the front of the jar. The colors blend together to create this beautifully designed label. The sticker doesn’t go all the way around providing you the opportunity to closely examine your product before purchasing. While the label does catch the eye, it doesn’t take away from the quality of the product inside.
A light green background dominates each of nug with darker patches scattered throughout. Even with my congested nose, I could smell a funky piney earthy smell permeate from the jar. As the Seahawks vs Packers game started I smoked through my first bowl of the night. The earthy pine flavor arrived at my taste buds. A great flavor profile for the holiday season. Funky OG was a smooth coast into relaxation without an overwhelming feeling caused by some indicas.
