French Montana is back with a new song featuring Drake titled “No Stylist.” This song can be heard on his new project called the No Stylist – EP that dropped last night. The new project can be seen as more of a pack of three songs, to hold fans over until a full project arrives at a later time.
The uptempo trap based beat of “No Stylist” is quite catchy, simply due to the plucked guitar/string lead. The heavy bass and prominent hi-hats also contribute to the overall flow of the track. Because of this, both rappers successfully mesh their infectious flows from start to finish.
French Montana’s presence on the song is also catchy, as he switches from his normal tone to his falsetto voice from start to finish. He mainly presents punchlines, rather than having extended lyrics and verses. The hook based approach serves him well because the lyrical content is very memorable.
In regards to the lyrics, Drake’s verse is the highlight of the track. On Thursday, Kanye West went on social media and pointed fingers at Drake saying “The fact that is people making rumors or thinking that you f—-d my wife and you not saying nothing and carrying it like that, that don’t sit well with my spirit.” On “No Stylist”, Drake ignited the feud by saying “Yeah, keepin’ it G, I told her “don’t wear no 350s ’round me.”
