FaZe Clan Reigns Supreme in Boston
From February 3 to February 16, the best teams in the world battled for supremacy at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway Park. The grand final saw FaZe Clan go head-to-head with Team BDS in a clash that will be remembered for years to come. BDS took the opening map on Chalet in a nail-biting 9-7 finish, but FaZe rallied back, taking the next three maps—Consulate (7-5), Nighthaven Labs (7-5), and Clubhouse (7-4)—to claim the championship and the massive $1,000,000 prize.
FaZe’s journey to the top wasn’t easy. After dropping to the lower bracket early on, they fought through Virtus.pro, Team Falcons, Spacestation Gaming, Unwanted, and FURIA before securing their spot in the grand final. FURIA rounded out the top three, securing a respectable $240,000, while Unwanted took home $170,000 for fourth place.

Year 10 Panel: Operation Prep Phase and Reputation System Overhaul
Ubisoft wasted no time setting the tone for Rainbow Six Siege’s future with its Year 10 panel, unveiling Operation Prep Phase, the first season of the year. Headlining the update is a brand-new attacker, Rauora, hailing from New Zealand. Rauora brings a fresh strategic element with his D.O.M. (Deployable Omnilink Mesh) Panel Launcher, allowing him to place bulletproof panels in doorways. These panels can be remotely activated to open or close, making them a game-changer for both attackers and defenders looking to manipulate map control.
Alongside Rauora, the Reputation System is finally coming out of beta, bringing with it a major overhaul. Player standings will reset, and depending on their past conduct, they will be placed into different tiers. Positive players (Respectable, Esteemed, or Exemplary) will earn rewards like Alpha Packs and exclusive cosmetics, while negative players (Dishonorable or Disruptive) could face matchmaking restrictions.
Siege X: The Next Evolution of Rainbow Six Siege
Perhaps the biggest bombshell of the weekend was the reveal of Rainbow Six Siege X, described by Ubisoft as “the biggest transformation in the game’s history.” While details remain under wraps, we do know that Siege X will bring massive graphical and audio improvements, deeper tactical gameplay, and brand-new ways to experience Siege. The hype train is already rolling, with Ubisoft confirming a full Siege X Showcase set for March 13, 2025, streaming live from Atlanta, Georgia.
Boston delivered a Six Invitational for the history books, with FaZe Clan proving their dominance and Ubisoft setting the stage for a new era of Rainbow Six Siege.
