The cryptocurrency wallet known as Exodus just integrated with an online sports and crypto betting platform called SportX.
Between a rise in both cryptocurrency and esports, we find a cross-section of the two that’s showing equal growth in popularity. This collab with Exodus, for instance, will give SportX users the option to place bets on esports games and tournaments through smart contracts. The smart contracts are processed and facilitated by the Polygon network.

The partnership announced earlier this week gave over one million users on Exodus access to the decentralized betting exchange of SportX. This is a hub for users to place bets on a variety of sports games using cryptocurrency. The levels of competition on the platform have heightened to the point where interest has occasionally created several advertisement and sponsorship opportunities for competitive gamers. Betting on esports is another facet of SportX recently on an incline.
SportX is available in Canada and South America. Additionally, it’s available in most of Asia and Europe, notably excluding France and the Netherlands. However, bets are at a five-dollar minimum in USD Coin. Users can send it straight to their Exodus wallet or have it exchanged from any of the 138 qualifying cryptocurrencies. All the smart contracts handled by the Polygon network include all markets created, traded, and settled on SportX.
The Opportunity for the eSports and Crypto Communities
Esports have the capacity to harbor a niche like betting when you consider the amount of money that goes into ticket sales and merch, as well as sponsorship and advertising. This is often backed by a genuine love for the level of competition surrounding competitive video games. Furthermore, cryptocurrency culture and esports go hand-in-hand based on the use of technology connecting people past geographical locations; and with the two communities sharing similar demographics, you will find a lot of collaborations and similar philosophies.
It’s obvious how this can bring more revenue to the esports space, as well as that of cryptocurrency. However, bringing in a more diverse demographic generally remains yet to be acknowledged.
