Drake has once again teased a new album, but this time through the music of Kanye West, with whom he has had a love-hate relationship.
This past weekend, the Toronto rapper took to social media to share a clip of himself in a sweatshirt with dogs — the same imagery used in the commercials to promote his new poetry book, Titles Ruin Everything. The visuals, it seems, will also be used for Drake’s new record, which many believe will be called For All the Dogs.
In the above video, Drake sings along to the classic Kanye tune, “Through the Wire,” while pointing his phone at the bathroom mirror. He then flexes the watch on his wrist as he keeps wording the lyrics to the College Dropout hit.
The reason behind this is most likely that Drake and 21 Savage are commencing their It’s All a Blur tour this Wednesday in Chicago, which also happens to be Kanye’s hometown.
Though Drake and Kanye have gone back and forth from praising each other to throwing massive shade, the one thing both stars have never gone back on is their admiration for each other’s work.
Their relationship spans over a decade and the two have even worked together on massive, career-defining projects. Following Pusha T‘s 2018 beef with Drake, however, the latter’s friendship with the Yeezy boss soured and stayed that way for the next three years.
The pair finally squashed their lengthy beef in 2021 and even performed together at the Free Larry Hoover benefit show in Los Angeles. However, their relationship soured once again amid Kanye’s very public breakdown the following year.
As per Drake’s recent post, there might be hope for the two to reconcile once again.
