Less than a week ago, Las Vegas-based rapper Dizzy Wright released his newest EP Slidin and Glidin. Much like his most popular song, “Killem With Kindness,” Dizzy has no features in his newest release. The 8-track, 21-minute project is cohesive with lo-fi beats, catchy choruses, and positive vibes.
Dizzy Wright’s Journey, Grind, and Mind
Dizzy Wright shares his journey, learning under his grandfather, in the song “Tryna Prepare Me” after his dad went to prison. He also raps about his path to the industry and his problems with it being fake and not developing real artists.
Dizzy raps about how he can’t stop pursuing his goals because he wants more success for himself in the songs “Not Enough” and “My Mind Keep Telling Me.” Although the songs have similar messages, they have different vibes. In “Not Enough,” his words are very motivational. The song could be on a fire gym playlist, pushing you to get big gains. In contrast, “My Mind Keep Telling Me” feels like riding in a cruiser, with the top down on a sunny day.

In the last song on the album, “Stay Positive,” the chorus offers good advice and uplifts your spirit. He promotes positive mindset, finishing school before following dreams, and to be aware of influence on your energy. It makes sense that this would be the final song to tie the album together.
Overall the album was pretty fire but could be a little repetitive at times. Nonetheless, Slidin and Glidin was another solid project from Dizzy Wright.
Dizzy’s Past with Funk Volume
Dizzy Wright was born in Flint, Michigan but lived in California, Georgia, and now primarily Las Vegas. His debut studio album, Smokeout Conversations, was released on April 20, 2012 (in honor of 420). This was after he signed under Hopsin’s independent record label, Funk Volume. In 2016 the beloved Funk Volume dispersed due to disrespect felt by Hopsin towards his business partner Damien Ritter. Since that time, Dizzy Wright has pursued his own path in music.
Just so y’all know I didn’t use any distribution for this new EP & I’m still not signed to a Label and I uploaded all this shit myself. I’m not tripping about numbers or none of that shit I just wanted y’all to have a solid body of work from my mind to yours #SAG
