The heart of Dim Mak Afloat was undoubtedly its impressive lineup of DJs and performers. Featuring a star-studded group that included the likes of Henry Fong, Ookay, Chyl, Manics, Benzi, Fthr Fgr, and Santo, the evening could only be described as fantastic.
The party, which was hosted in celebration of Ookay’s release, “All I Wanna Do,” kicked off with guests getting gift bags from the sponsor, Cake, and enjoying some dope beats, delicious tacos and breathtaking Long Beach views. Although the boat wasn’t exactly nice and the weather wasn’t enjoyable by any means, the highlight of this Dim Mak Afloat event came after I had some delicious tacos and when Ookay took over the turntables.
With his signature blend of trap, future bass, and dubstep, Ookay legit had the entire boat bouncing. Ookay, the stage name of American DJ and electronic music producer Abraham “Abe” Laguna, has made a significant impact on the dance music scene. Known for his dynamic blend of genres such as trap, dubstep, and future bass, Ookay has gained recognition for his innovative and energetic sound.
His tracks like “Thief” and collaborations with artists like Diplo have garnered millions of streams, solidifying his presence in the world of dance music. Ookay’s electrifying performances at major music festivals and clubs around the globe have further elevated his status as a prominent figure in dance music, and his ability to fuse diverse influences continues to captivate fans worldwide.
The resilience and enthusiasm of the Dim Mak Afloat attendees, combined with the outstanding performances, made it an unforgettable night. The music, ranging from Chyl’s infectious house beats to Ookay’s thunderous dubstep, united everyone on the Catalina Cruise’s dance floor in a shared passion for music.
