Daygo Fatts Is Planning a Takeover As He Sets Up To Re-Release Hit Single "Ride Away" On December EP [Exclusive Interview]

Daygo Fatts is Making Waves as He Prepares to Re-Release Hit Single “Ride Away” on Upcoming EP [Exclusive Interview]

Daygo Fatts is an entertaining artist from San Diego making waves as he follows the musical footsteps of the men in the family before him. Managed by popular Atlanta videographer/artist Sensei Chop, from a young age Fatts knew he would only ever be one of two things- a hip-hop artist or a field biologist like Steve Erwin.

Coming from a musical family, hip-hop came very naturally for Daygo Fatts. He cites this as a major influence in why he is where he is today. “All the guys in my family are very musical, my brother has been a big influence as well as some older cousins.”

Coming with a sound that is very chill and almost soothing to listen to, Daygo describes his music as “unapologetically me,” and makes sure each song has a point to stick to.

“I have an ability to connect with people through my writing which I feel a lot of music is lacking. Music isn’t sticking anymore, people don’t really talk about anything with meaning but a lot of my music captures that.”

Ready to Ride Away

In 2018, Daygo Fatts released his hit single “Ride Away,” which began to open up a lot of opportunities for him in a “finicky” city when it comes to music. Getting some nice play outside of the city, the song eventually made its way to the ears of Sensei Chop, an ATL media ninja whose worked with the likes of Migos and Lil Baby.

A talented person who really understands the artist side of things, being one himself, Sensei was exactly what Fatts needed to help take that next step in his career. Together, they bounce ideas off of each other and fuel each other’s creativity in ways that come easily and naturally.

“Its easy, he’s been that artist so he understands a lot more than the average executive or manager. It’s a benefit for me because we can both come up with stuff creatively. We both have that creative mind and can apply it to business.”

Dropping Bangers Like Paychecks

Daygo Fatts has an EP coming out in December that will also act as a re-release for “Ride Away,” to give it the proper promo push it deserves. But, leading up to then he has been and will continue to release his 1st and 15th series. This is a series of visual projects and freestyles dropping twice a month on the 1st and the 15th.

Being able to consistently drop these videos while also working on an album is part of why Daygo is going places. That hunger and ability to juggle multiple things at once is vital in today’s music game, and he has them both in spades. Talking to him, he took a moment to reflect on this as we ended our interview and his answer just further proves my point.

“It’s crazy because I work on music constantly so I already had a project ready but once we started doing 1st and 15th, that project didn’t fit. So, I’m basically writing a whole new project right now that I’m almost done writing and just gotta have done before we go to ATL.”
