Rapper Connie Diiamond from the Bronx, New York continues on the rise after dropping a new album this summer with artist Remy Ma. The two artists linked together for this project, making for an ultimate and empowering moment for women in the industry, especially in the world of rap.

Diiamond tells 247HH in an interview that she started doing music when she was just 14 years old, and that it all started with poetry.  She states that she would attend poetry SLAMS and open mic nights, and occasionally even perform some lunch table freestyles.

She began to take things more seriously in 2016 when her Drake Summer 16 Freestyle went viral.  This hit even landed her her very first paid show in London, sparking her fame even more.

Connie Diiamond continued to do her freestyles, dropping another one that went viral again, which ultimately led to her signing a deal with record label Def Jam Recordings.  Diiamond says that her freestyles are what kick started her career in the music industry, getting her a deal with a label.

A staple in Diiamond’s image has been her iconic blue hair.  She claims that the reason behind this blue hair is simply because she thinks she looks good with it- correct- and because it’s a way for her to brand herself.

She even released an album in May of 2023 called “Underdog Szn” with an album cover dedicated to this bright blue hair of hers, signifying her brand and of course her look.

Connie Diiamond worked in collaboration with artist Remy Ma on her new summer album.  Remy Ma is a 44-year-old rapper who is also from the Bronx, New York.  Remy also has a new single that just dropped on July 12th called “Outta Control” in collaboration with artists Fat Joe and Cool & Dre.

Diiamond tells TT Torez in a HOT 97 interview that she felt that she needed Remy on the album because it just made sense.  She wanted them both to channel and tap into that female empowerment that this industry still needs.

New Album and Upcoming Show

Connie Diiamond’s new album just dropped on June 30th of this year and is called “Ghetto and Ratchet (Sped Up and Slowed Down)”.  It is a six-track EP that features Remy Ma on three of the tracks to remix one of Diiamond’s original songs.

Ghetto and Ratchet” was a single that Diiamond released in September of 2023.  Her new album features this single on its own track, and includes both a sped up and slowed down version, in addition to the three remixes featuring Remy Ma.
