Coachella 2025 headliners
Lady Gaga, Green Day, and Post Malone will headline the festival on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, respectively. For Gaga, the 2025 festival will be her second time headlining at Coachella, after replacing Beyonce as a headliner in 2017. Malone has performed twice: in 2018, he was on the official lineup and closed out the Sahara tent, bringing out Ty Dolla $ign and 21 Savage, and in 2023, he made a surprise appearance during Bad Bunny’s Set. Significantly, the 2025 festival will be Green Day’s first appearance at Coachella, as a band and headliner.
Coachella 2025 Location
Since its inception in 1999, the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has taken place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Its location is part of the Inland Empire region’s Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. The festival takes place entirely outside and is known for extremely high temperatures because of its location just outside Palm Springs.
A Brief History of Coachella
The inaugural Cocahella Valley Music and Arts Festival took place on October 9-10, 1999, headlined by Beck, Tool, and Rage Against the Machine. There was no festival in 2000. After a break in 2001, the festival has run every April. Coachella moved to two days in 2002 and three days in 2007. In 2012, Coachella expanded over two consecutive weekends, with identical lineups for each weekend. The festival is also known for its rambunctious campgrounds where attendees will stay overnight and party throughout the weekend, which organizers began permitting in 2003. In 2020 and 2021, the festival was canceled due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
During the festival, several stages continuously host live music. Two outdoor stages are used, along with several tents named after deserts. The primary stages that have been in use since the festival’s inception are the Coachella Stage, the main stage that draws the largest crowds; Outdoor Theatre; and the Mojave, Gobi, and Sahara tents.
Tickets for the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival are on sale now but are expected to sell out quickly. All ages are welcome and kids aged five and under receive free entry. The festival will take place on April 11-13 and April 18-20, rain or shine, and separate tickets must be purchased for both weekends.
