Clemm Rishad is no stranger to success. He’s come a long way from singing in the youth choir to producing, writing, and collaborating on Grammy-nominated projects with household names like Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Jay-Z, Rick Ross, and Jason Derulo. Not only is he a wizard with the pen and behind the boards, but the dude can spit with the best of them too. Rishad has his sites set on blowing up as a solo artist in 2020. That vision starts with his newest EP To Whom It May Concern.
It only takes seven tracks to show any hip-hop head that “King Kong ain’t got shit” on Clemm Rishad. It would be easy to see Alonzo bumping this EP in his ’79 Monte Carlo while running down informants. Rishad steals some of that gangster cop swag in the opening tracks “No Mercy” and “Training Day.” Relentless bars and flow create a mood that makes me want to run through walls.
It’s easy to hear why Rishad teamed up with Stree Runner to produce To Whom It May Concern. The entire project has synchronicity that listens incredibly well all the way through. The project is all about hustle energy and making moves, something Rishad knows a lot about. He’s been griding independently a long time and his star’s shining a bright light on Tacoma’s rap scene.
Rishad is headlining an EP release party in Tacoma, WA on Saturday, Feb. 22 at Fawcett Hall at Alma Mater. Be sure to buy your tickets and help celebrate this hometown kid’s come up.
