Los Angeles duo, Calabasas, just put out their latest single “Lagunalude” to all platforms along with an epic visual offering. This entrancing new track creates a soundscape that tells a story and puts you in the same room with Calabasas. “Lagunalude” and its music video are building anticipation for the release of their upcoming album Humans By Association.
Calabasas is a duo out of Los Angeles that includes Jared, a songwriter and vocalist, and Francis, a producer, engineer, and vocalist. Since crossing paths in LA back in 2018, Calabasas has been on a mission to make their mark. They plan to tell their story through music that bends the standards of contemporary modern musical genres.
Though together they’re a creative powerhouse, the individual members of Calabasas don’t need the other to create awesome music. They also each have their own discographies as solo artists and use their talents to touch the tracks of some of the most popular artists on the rise today.
“Lagunalude” is a testament to Calabasas’ ability to push the boundaries of modern music genres and create something new. The atmospheric orchestra and synth bass, coupled with the hard-hitting trap percussion creates a powerful track. It basically makes you feel like you’re floating through space and running 150 miles an hour at the same time. They achieve these feelings through the contrast between the suspenseful synth bass build-ups and the hard-hitting trap percussion.
Though Lagunalude’s instrumental is inspirational on its own, we can’t overlook the flows and lyrical executions.
