Based out of Sarasota, Florida, Brett and Bradley Anderson were meant to make music together. With Brett performing banjo, electric banjo, vocals and keys, and Bradley on the guitar, drums, bass, and vocals, Brother Brother is a two-man team to rival the rest. Describing their music as “Indie rock with a banjo,” the two brothers have done well carving out their own unpredictable niche in the musical stratosphere.
Their song “With My Eyes Wide Open” off their new album The New Kids is the first of a string of songs that crosses boundaries and deviates from the norm. The track gives off a 90’s pop-rock vibe with rap lyrics fitting cozily in. While listening, I’m reminded of a lot of artists like Twenty-One Pilots, Watsky, and X-Ambassadors. Their sound will grow on you, with nostalgic appeal, sentimental lyrics, and passion. They’re a diverse and original duo, and even if I’m not a fan of every one of their songs, I would still go check them out live if I ever got the chance.
Brother Brother have performed six-hundred shows in just the last three years, including a residency at the Jim Stafford Theater in Branson, Missouri, and a 60-stop college tour. Their previous album The New Kids debuted at #2 on the iTunes New Release Charts. Go check out their tour dates below to see if they’re coming to a city near you.
Brother Brother – “With My Eyes Wide Open”
“….With My Eyes Wide Open” is our answer to those things we have experienced as brothers this last year. Changes in life, location, family, friends, and shows can be difficult or devastating sometimes, and we watch those changes with our eyes wide open. Those changes echo around in your brain whether you like it or not. The biggest wars and the hardest moments for us are often not the ones people see… they’re the ones we fight in our heads….” -Brother Brother
