On September 2nd through 5th, Bonnaroovians will make their way to Bonnaroo Farms for the 20th annual Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. The four-day camping festival takes place just an hour outside of the Music City of Nashville in Manchester, Tennessee. This beloved festival boasts a star-studded lineup, covering an array of genres and artists of all sizes. What makes this event a favorite amongst festival-goers is the immersive camping experience.
Megan Thee Stallion, Tame Impala, and Tyler, The Creator are just a few of the superstars headlining this year’s Bonnaroo. For the hip-hop heads attending, you’ll find sets from Young Thug, Lil Baby, J.I.D., and Jack Harlow, along with many other known and emerging rappers.
If you’re all about rock, Bonnaroo has tons of chances to enjoy performances from bands like Foo Fighters, Incubus, and Deftones. If you like it a little more alternative, you’ll be happy to hear that Glass Animals, Young the Giant, and Oliver Tree will also be making their way to the farm this summer. And finally, for attendees looking to rave, there’s plenty of DJs to check out including Deadmau5, Dr. Fresch, Seven Lions, Subtronics, and Ekali.
Check out the full Bonnaroo lineup
Unfortunately, earlier this month Bonnaroo announced that Lana Del Rey, Janelle Monáe, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard were no longer able to perform this year. To make up for it, RÜFÜS DU SOL and Khruangbin have been added to the lineup instead.
The Who stage features buzzing up-and-coming talent
What I personally am especially looking forward to is the Who Stage. This stage is putting on a variety of up-and-coming, buzzing talent. You’ll discover fresh faces like Bailey Bryan, Goldpark, Rookie, and dozens more.
The camping experience is equally as exciting as the lineup
The lineup itself is incredibly exciting, but the camping is something to equally look forward to this September. Camping at a festival may not seem very glamorous, but Bonnaroo creates an experience that actually gets you excited to camp in a field surrounded by strangers in the summer heat. The camping experience at Bonnaroo is an endless adventure where you can connect with fellow attendees and even discover more about yourself.
Expect crazy surprises, unique adventures, and stories you’ll tell for a lifetime – this is NOT your average festival camping.

Throughout the various campgrounds, attendees will also find plazas. Plazas at Bonnaroo are hubs for the community to gather, explore, and access necessary amenities. According to Bonnaroo, “No matter where you’re camped, you’ll have a plaza nearby.” The plazas are just the start of your adventure though. You’ll also find experiences ranging from secret performances, to dance parties, to educational activities, and even a parade. To learn more about the camping experience, visit Bonaroo’s website.
Whatever paths you choose to take at Bonnaroo, you’re guaranteed to leave with lasting memories. So do yourself a favor and get out of your comfort zone. Try new things while at this one-of-a-kind festival. See artists you’ve never heard of, make new friends, and don’t be afraid to dance like a monkey on speed!
If you didn’t already purchase a pass, unfortunately you’re out of luck because this year’s Bonnaroo is sold out. If you’re really hoping to go, you may also find luck on the waitlist.
