The extremely anticipated return of Bobby Shmurda is finally here. After being involved in a massive GS9 bust in 2014 and spending six years locked up, Shmurda was released this past February. Since being free, fans have anxiously awaited his first single back. Well now, that wait is finally over as Bobby Shmurda releases “No Time for Sleep (Freestyle)” today, September 3rd.
Though he’s collaborated with other artists this year, including J Balvin, this marks Shmurda’s first solo track back. In fact, this is his first song as lead artist in seven years. You’d think the rapper would be rusty after all that time, but Shmurda proves to be at the top of his game despite setbacks.

“No Time for Sleep (Freestyle)” by Bobby Shmurda is an assertive hard-hitting track packed with the New York rapper’s signature word-packed bars. Shmurda crams over 1,000 words into a 6 minute freestyle, barely taking a breath. All aloft a grimy trap beat, Shmurda keeps up with his pivotal drill/trap blend.
Extending from the title, Shmurda speaks of his life now that he’s out of prison. He’s drowning in money and fame, and catching up on all of the missed opportunities. With his newfound freedom, Shmurda is finding he has “no time for sleep” and especially no time for his shawty.
Bobby Shmurda Releases “No Time For Sleep (Freestyle)” With Epic Records
There’s been rumors that Roc Nation is interested in signing Bobby Shmurda. Nonetheless, it looks like he has released “No Time For Sleep (Freestyle)” under his original label Epic Records/Sony. This is likely due to the fact that he has a contract that needs to be fulfilled with Epic before making the move to Roc Nation.
