With autumn weather on the horizon and cold temperatures creeping in, cannabis lovers are in need of a strain that fits the season. When it comes to finding the right product for your fall and winter excursions, a great place to start is flavor. One strain that brings to life the feelings of sitting around a warm campfire is the Black Marshmallow strain by High Tide Cannabis.
In this North American Weed Tour official taste test review, Respect My Region’s CEO Mitch Pfeifer tells us everything we need to know about this delicious strain.
First Impressions of the Black Marshmallow Strain
The first notable aspect of Black Marshmallow from High Tide is its craftsman-level packaging. The flower comes in a glass jar with a wooden top and the beautiful octopus emblem of High Tide Cannabis; a Washington-based company distributed by Minglewood Brands. The jar features a “Tide Gauge” that measures the effects of the strain from chill to thrill. As an indica-dominant hybrid, Black Marshmallow clocks in on the chill side of the meter.
The strain’s packaging also includes the lineage: Marsha X FAF. The result is a strain with 19.5% THC and potentially relaxing effects.

The Review
Black Marshmallow’s nugs are a dark green color with purple hues covering the exterior. A frosty layer of trichomes covers the surface with fiery orange hairs popping up throughout. The nugs are dense in form, but break up easily; allowing users to stretch a bag for longer, unlike other dense strains that don’t break apart as easily.
Upon smelling Black Marshmallow, Mitch could immediately detect the creamy, gassy chocolate smell that helps give the strain its s’more-like name. The aroma carries light hints of earth throughout.
The first hit of the strain reinforces the s’more flavor with tastes of cream and chocolate filtering through the inhale. The aftertaste carries a gassy flavor. The interacting notes give the Black Marshmallow an extremely unique flavor. Mitch’s experience was so good that he had to go back for a third on a two-hit review. Afterward, he stated that “you could have it for dessert.”
The overall flavor, presentation, and experience of the Black Marshmallow strain led Mitch to give the strain a high score of 95 out of 100.
