People all over the world are coming together to support Black Lives Matter, and female ravers are standing up and showing their support. Female ravers are speaking out on social media calling for more representation in the rave community. They’re also supporting mass boycotts from companies who aren’t embracing the Black Lives Matter movement. EDM fashion companies and customers are making a change and demanding more representation for models and sponsors of color.
Female and fashion rave groups are standing up to create positive change and keep popular companies responsible. Rave fashion brand, Dollskill, is currently facing mass boycotts. After the CEO Shoddy Lynn made a post on twitter supporting police force against protesters. The Dollskill company and CEO have since posted apologies on Instagram stating, “We fucked up. We should have been quicker + louder.”
Since then, Dollskill has increased posting black models on their Instagram. However, many customers are still doubtful if the company has really changed. Groups of female ravers are calling for a mass media uprising and unfollowing of Dollskill and other brands not posting more models of color. Many believe this to be performative activism on their behalf.
hi everyone, meet Shoddy Lynn, the owner of @DollsKill, praising the police for shooting peaceful protestors outside her store.

Another popular rave brand, Iheartraves was caught deleting comments about posting more Black models in the rave community. Iheartraves has recently made a statement apologizing. The company posted a vow to spread diversity in the rave community. Since this statement, the company has reached out to more Black female ravers.
They’re trying to give them their massive platform to speak on Instagram live. In hope that they’ll educate the public about important topics like racism and cultural appropriation in the rave community. Iheartraves has also donated $5,000 to the George Floyd memorial fund.

PLUR
PLUR is the moral code that ravers support, peace, love, unity, and respect. Unity and respect are the two major topics that exist at the core. Unifying ravers everywhere and respecting their experiences. Giving platforms to Black ravers so their voices and experiences can be heard. Standing up against racial injustice and female ravers using their voices is changing ravers and the world forever. The Black Lives Matter movement is hopefully changing the EDM community into a place where there’s equal representation.
