Washington State typically has significant representation in the West Coast Weed Tour. This year was no different. The introduction of the Cookies brand added more competition to the mix but as usual, Bellingham, Tacoma, Seattle and Spokane companies 100% held their own when it comes to cultivating the best weed in Washington State.
These 10 strains represent the best weed in Washington State for the 2020 West Coast Weed Tour review series.
Best Weed In Washington
Gary Payton by Cookies
Gary Payton may take the throne for best Cookies strain, at least in my opinion. I’ve smoked it on three separate occasions and the consistency has been on point every time. That’s a testament to the producers, but also the genetic stability of this cultivar. Beautiful and DENSE purple flowers with peppery, gas, and skunky notes “The Glove” would be proud of.
Lemon Meringue from Avitas
After that first toke of Avitas Lemon Meringue strain, your pallet will likely thank you. A natural limonene citrus flavor that isn’t overbearing, but lightly grazes your pallet in a subtly sweet way. Reminiscent of the dessert, Lemon Meringue provided me with a euphoric and comforting high. I tend to smoke more Indica flower, but this Sativa strain helped ease my anxiety and drive creative flow.
Gluelato from Agro Couture
The Gluelato strain is incredibly memorable. The Gelato and Gorilla Glue flavors are both present through various stages of smelling and smoking these flowers. It’s a perfect blend of flavors. The strain hits you quickly. It’s a powerful and euphoric feeling that makes you smile and make it quite difficult to stay on task, which makes it perfect for your nightcap.
Mad Gelato from Mad Mark Farms
The Mad Gelato’s flavors follow the aromas in lock-step. The terps come through the entire smoking experience, which is fairly rare for flower in my experience. This strain had everything I could want from a Gelato strain and it makes it hit a little better just knowing it came from Mad Mark who is one of the best legal cannabis sherpas you could ever ask for.
Cake Donut by SKöRD Marijuana
The taste is equal parts sweet and peppery. The high is mellow and euphoric. This strain label says it’s an indica-hybrid, but it wasn’t heavy. This is the type of strain that can be paired with daytime activities without fear of falling asleep before dinner. Everything about this strain was solid. When you account for SKöRD’s quality control and the unique flavor it’s hard to have a better experience.
Sherbface by Seattle’s Private Reserve
A few good rips off my bong was all it took. Immediately a sense of euphoria blanketed over my body. Along with a serious battle with the inability to focus and a strong inclination to eat my entire fridge drove most of the high. The lack of focus however created drastic issues with being able to decide what I wanted to eat. I gave in and continued loading bowls of Sherbface, the flavor alone was enough to chain-smoke out of my bong.
Starkiller by Doghouse
The Star Killer is a heavy OG in potency, flavor, and taste. This cut from Doghouse hits the mark well in every category landing a score in the 90s on our West Coast Weed Tour. Winner of the best hybrid category in the 2016 Colorado Cannabis Cup. This strain crosses Blueberry OG, Rare Dankness #2, and Mazar.
Grease Monkey by GreenRush
Dense groupings of buds clung to the stem. Each nug felt solid and none of the cannabis crumbled off. Even the trichomes stuck on for the most part. Strong orange pistils scatter across the nug, mixing in beautifully with the gleam with trichomes. The visual appearance of Grease Monkey along with the nose are both of the enticing factors for this strain.
Lemon Sorbet #3 by Gabriel
The potent lemony-citrus aroma is supported by a creamy flavor that fits perfectly with a relaxing summer day. Paired with a subtle pine aroma. The smells alone are enticing enough. Dark green with a faint tint of purple provides the background for sporadic patches of orange hairs. When smoked, a creamy flavor dominates the taste with lemon undertones. Each rip kept the flavor as I worked through my bowl. The smoke was smooth and kept the flavor until it was out.
Virginia Pop by Red Bird FKA Virginia Co
The Virginia Pop from Redbird (FKA Virginia Co) is a nice mix of Dosi-Dos and Triangle Kush bx2. We purchased this as a budtender recommendation at The Link Cannabis in Longview, WA.
