We just released our 2017 Best Of PNW Hip-Hop awards and per usual, artists are in their feelings. I’ll admit, after posting I definitely realized a few snubs. While we created our own awards, we also wanted to create a collection of dope music from around the Northwest for artists and fans alike to discover new music. Our solution was a compilation of the dopest music videos for our Hip-Hop video playlist.
Making these lists are tough, we started out keeping the list to 10 songs. 10 become 15, then 20, then 30 and we finally arrived at 50. Another hindrance to making these lists is that some artists only release songs via SoundCloud, or as a video on YouTube, or even a direct video to Facebook. Others choose to stay strictly to paid streaming platforms like Spotify and Apple Music.
For this playlist, we chose our top 50 favorite Hip-Hop music videos released on YouTube in 2017. This list features artists based in the Pacific Northwest and is not listed in a particular order. I will say that Anthony Danza’s ‘We Don’t Look Like Them’ was one of my personal most played songs from PNW this year though. This list is designed to show love to all the hard working artists and for YOU to discover new music!
