Berner released his most recent album, GOTTI, following a documentary he released on YouTube called Mind Over Matter: The Making of GOTTI.
GOTTI Shows Berner’s Strength in Hustle and Network
GOTTI dropped on December 3rd, two days after the documentary. This marks the 43rd album the entrepreneur and rapper from San Francisco has dropped in his career dating back to 2006. This album is named after the late John Gotti and has some of the biggest names in hip-hop on it.
In fact, 12 of the 19 songs on the album have features from artists like Ty Dolla $ign, Wiz Khalifa, Future, and more. This includes a song with Jadakiss accurately titled “Too Many Goats,” which also features household names like Nas and Rick Ross, as well as the seasoned music writer and rapper Kevin Cossom.

GOTTI and the Blessing From the Family
Berner finishes off a trilogy with GOTTI that is themed around some of the most legendary Mafia Dons. GOTTI follows the 2020 album Russ Bufalino: The Quiet Don, featuring a track with the late DMX, and Paulie Cicero released earlier this year. However, something was different when it came to this 3rd album to the most recent trilogy. He was able to add a raw, authentic touch to the project.
It started out as Berner reaching out to John Gotti Jr. to use their name for the album title. However, it quickly turned into a friendship between the two. The two eventually met and had connected well. This evolved into Gotti Jr. showing Berner unreleased audio of John Gotti recorded by the feds. Gotti gave Berner his blessing to use these audiotapes on the album itself.
If that wasn’t enough, prior to this album and meeting, Berner announced his fight with cancer back in October. Despite the news and despite his mom losing her own battle to cancer, Berner has pushed on to not only finish the documentary and album but to also prepare his own cannabis-friendly social media platform with WeedMaps, as well as team up with Erykah Badu on the Badu OG strain.
Berner’s ability to pump out tracks while curating his empire through his Cookies brand really shows his drive, hustle, and hunger. No matter if you are thinking about his music, his social media presence, social equity, or his entire empire, Berner’s tenacity will always come to mind.
