In fact, the plant geneticists responsible for sourcing their dozens of diverse strains are among the best in the entire country. Berkshire Roots cannabis makes few stops beyond their own grow house, which is constantly sterilized and free of all adulterates.
To speak further on the crops themselves, every single batch is grown and harvested in the 26,000 square foot Berkshire Roots grow facility. This way, the process is overseen by BR experts from day one, all the way through to trimming and curing. A combination of all-natural growing techniques mixed with advanced proprietary methods and extraction technologies ensures consistent results from every batch of flower and concentrate.
“We’ve got amazing folks in our cultivation department that make sure all of our planets are handled with the utmost care, but also with scrutiny,” Berkshire Roots’ Senior Director of Marketing Holly Alberti told us on the RMR Podcast. “…Cultivation spaces can be vulnerable, and they have to be treated with the respect that they deserve. In fact, the only part of the Berkshire Roots process that isn’t performed by their team is the one step that shouldn’t be: lab testing. A Massachusetts-approved third-party cannabis testing lab rigorously screens all Berkshire Roots products for impurities such as pesticides, heavy metals, and mold. The cannabinoid and terpene profiles that appear on the packaging are also sourced from the lab’s potency and purity tests. The full cannabinoid test performed makes Berkshire Roots one of the only teams to show this level of commitment to their consumers.

Explicitly recognizing the damages of the War on Drugs toward marginalized communities, they make a note to donate a portion of profits to several statewide and national charities. Monthly spotlights focus a carousel of reparative funds, such as the Last Prisoner Project and local branches of the NAACP. The success of this method has previously proven substantial, with nearly $7000 donated to the LPP within October of 2020 roundups alone.
