Aside from being one of the hardest-hitting MCs of the modern era, Benny the Butcher is also known for his prolific output. Yet, it might surprise you that he only has three studio records to his name thus far. The New York spitter’s catalog is loaded with EPs, collaborative projects and mixtapes, and he is now set to release his next solo album.
EVERYBODY CAN’T GO is scheduled to drop on August 11 and will be produced by two of hip-hop’s most prized beatmakers, the Alchemist and Hit-boy. It’s no surprise that Benny the Butcher summoned Californian producers given their track record of working with rappers known for their lyricism. All three have a reputation for masterfully blending the old with the new, so it’ll be fascinating to listen to an entire tracklist of them working together.
Benny the Butcher Reveals the Release Date for His New Album
During a recent interview on DLTR Radio, Benny the Butcher revealed his plans for the new album. He himself found out about the release date three days prior, so it was fresh to everyone. Having the Alchemist and Hit-boy produce the record, however, is the cherry on top. Though the beatmakers have been active for decades now, their recent success has exposed younger generations to their artistry.
The Alchemist has worked on a series of massive records with artists ranging from Freddie Gibbs to Larry June. Hit-boy, most notably, helped spark the renaissance of Nas by cooking up instrumentals for the veteran’s last four albums, including the King’s Disease trilogy. Both producers even got together on a recent crossover that had the hip-hop community fantasizing about what an entire project with the two might sound like. Though we don’t have exactly that yet, it appears we’re a step closer to it with the new Benny the Butcher LP.
