Benjamin Dean Wilson just released his newest album “The Smartest Person in the Room.” This ‘Talkin’ Blues’ album is an indie folk project performed entirely by Benjamin, recorded using only a Tascam one-half inch tape deck.
Benjamin Dean Wilson first started off his career in the film industry, working as a camera assistant on commercials, and then later making short 16mm films and play. Not until later in life did he decide to try telling his stories through music.
BDW’s style is a unique take on indie blues storytelling music, taking its listeners on a ride through a mixed rollercoaster of emotion, comedy, irony, and wistfulness. His first album, “Small Talk” was released in 2015 through the German label Tapete Records. Benjamin Dean Wilson is also similar to Johnathan Richman, Adam Green, The Kinds, and The Divine Comedy.
