The intro to BbyMutha’s, Bbyshoe, EP is one of the dopest starts to an album I’ve heard in some time. ‘Dad Intro’ features her baby daddy leaving a voicemail speaking on how great of a mother she is while also praising her for the musical grind. I couldn’t think of a better way to start the project for Bbymutha.

The Chattanooga mother and artist sites an unlikely source as her inspiration, Joel Osteen. I know it sounds crazy, but you gotta respect the realness. She doesn’t look to Joel for spiritual guidance. She’s more into the fact that he’s a hustler on the ultimate level. Take a moment to get familiar with BbyMutha’s music and you’ll understand why she’s all about the grind.
Over the past year, she’s has stayed consistent building up a solid base. One of those such followers happens to be the musical icon, Bjork. Now the release of the video to her single, ‘Rules’ and coverage in national publications, she shows no signs of slowing down.

Last month, Bbyshoe, dropped and this has continued that momentum. Throughout the 7 track project, the Tennessee rhymer speaks from an empowered woman’s perspective. The themes of being a boss and knowing how to handle herself in a male-dominated world ring throughout the EP. She has a laidback, southern drawl when she spits that allows for her to get her point across on every line. One of the standouts on the EP is, ‘Lately’ featuring DMV rapper Rico Nasty. You may know Rico Nasty from her collaboration with Lil Yachty, ‘Mamacita’ off of the soundtrack to, “Fate and the Furious”.
After a strong 2017, I believe this year will be even bigger for BBymutha. One thing is for sure, she isn’t waiting for any handouts. She is here to take what she needs from the game without asking.
