While the whole world was congratulating Cardi B for having the #1 Billboard hit, Azaelia Banks took that opportunity to take shots at the Bronx MC. In the wake of those comments, Azaelia has actually stepped forward with an apology – but not for Cardi B.
Banks took to Instagram once more as she posted screenshots of her apology to Nicki Minaj.

Banks also went on to say it was industry pressure that led her to work with Nicki’s ex-boyfriend Safaree Samuels, not to get under Nicki’s skin. After watching his [Safaree] processes, Banks said she grew even more respect for Nicki’s artistry.
“You have my word, that from here on out, I will never say any negative or catty things about you ever again,” Banks said. “Inside all of us there’s a little black girl who cries and the last thing I want to see is that little black girl cry.”
In what was a surprise for Banks, Nicki responded to Banks accepting the apology. “You’re very talented & very smart,” Nicki said. “Focus on what really matters from now on.”
As we saw from Banks post caption, she was very excited about Nicki’s response. “Not gonna lie, I cried a bit when she responded. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ @nickiminaj #laguardiahighschool #femalerapforthemotherfuckingwin.”
It’s good to see that Nicki and Banks are able to put the past behind them. Maybe Banks will have the same realization with Cardi B in the near future.
