Antony Walker, better known as Astral Cloud Ashes just dropped his newest album “Dear Absentee Creator.” This multi-instrumental talent’s recent work carries influence in Japanese culture and the rise of bitcoin, with raw and grungy melodies that encapsulate an angsty 1999 emo vibe. Some of the tracks in this album consist of samples of traditional Japanese instruments such as the Koto, to create ambient sounds to pair with the guitars.
The album title is an ode to Satoshi Nakamoto, the creator of the worlds first cryptocurrency. The inventor’s true identity remains unknown. After establishing his or her cryptocurrency format, Satoshi vanished in 2010 and has not been heard from since. Antony spoke on the subject, saying that he was inspired by this creator, and hopes that they come out of the woodworks someday to reveal some of the mystery around their invention.
