The Apple Fritter strain aka “Apple Fritters” is a loud and rare hybrid strain that strikes a very even balance on its indica/sativa lineage. By crossing the Sour Apple with the Animal Cookies strain you end up with this cultivar. It comes correct with crazy delicious flavors and a potentially blissful cerebral and body high. Back in 2016, this strain won a spot on the High Times “World’s Strongest Strains” list that potentially lent to its rise in popularity.
The buds on the Apple Fritter strain have noticeable visual appeal, showing off rich olive greens even streaks of purple. Warmly orange pistils twist and curl out from the cracks to add a pleasing contrast. Most importantly, you’ll see a crazy thick layer of full, white trichome heads populating its entire surface like a flash-mob. This coating presents a very strong nose on the buds, lending to its fruity and cheesy aromas. Breaking a nug open will get your fingers quite sticky. Simultaneously, it’ll send a wave of earthy, sugary, and peppery smells straight to your nose.
Many report the Apple Fritter strain boasting a pastry-like apple flavor which gave me inklings at the dominant terpenes. With there still being a lack of lab data on this strain to truly prove its terpene profile, I can still take a stab at it after doing some research. The terpenes that consistently come up from its parents are beta-caryophyllene, limonene, and myrcene (in no specific order.) Considering this possibility, it would give an explanation to the herbal yet super sweet and fruity aromas this strain is known for.

Myrcene plays a similar role, lending floral fruitiness, while also potentially lending to the relaxing and sleepy qualities it’s said to possess.
